What the bank will ask for
- Passport with the UAE entry stamp or visa
- Proof of address, not older than three months
- Bank statements for the last six months
- A reference letter from your current bank
- Proof of source of funds: salary, business income, sale of property, investments
- A short note on what the account is for
- Sometimes a CV
Minimum balance
There is no single published figure for non-residents. For a standard personal account, plan for AED 25,000 to 100,000. Priority banking asks for much more. We confirm the current requirement at the bank that fits you before you book a flight.
The trip
Plan five to seven working days in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. We book the appointment and come with you. The bank usually decides three to five business days after the visit, and we follow up until it does.
What about the tourist account?
ADCB lets visitors open an instant account in the app while they are in the UAE on a visit visa. It closes when you leave, when the visa ends or after six months. Useful for a holiday, not as your second bank.
